The Snowbird Declaration

A statement on the structural necessity of intent verification in AI systems

THIS IS WORTH EXPLORING

I care deeply about very few things. This is one of them.

Driving on an icy road is irresponsible at any speed—without the right gear.

We are all on the icy road right now. AI systems make billions of decisions daily, and none of them can structurally prove they understood what we asked. The optimists say drive faster. The pessimists say stop driving. Both are wrong.

We're not arguing about the ice. We're offering the chains.

The hypothesis: there exists a mathematical equivalence—formalized as S=P=H—where semantic structure, physical optimization, and hardware efficiency converge into a single verifiable constraint. If true, intent verification becomes architectural, not aspirational.

By signing, we affirm:

  • 1.The ice is real. Current AI systems cannot structurally prove they understood our intent. This is not a philosophical concern—it is an engineering gap.
  • 2.Chains might exist. The S=P=H framework—fractal semantic addressing, self-legending structures, hardware-verifiable intent—represents a coherent research direction worth testing.
  • 3.The stakes justify the effort. Before cryptography, digital commerce required “trust me.” After cryptography, it required “prove it.” We believe the same transition is possible for AI intent.
  • 4.The chains should be public. Intent verification must be an open standard, not a proprietary moat.

This is not a claim of certainty. This is a commitment to rigorous exploration. We don't know if S=P=H is the answer. We know the question is urgent.

🎯The Path Forward

When 25 of the 50 most influential engineers in AI sign this declaration, we will establish a non-profit foundation to fund the development of an open standard for intent verification.
